- Kava means bitter, it is a member of the nightshade family. It is very rare, bit it is said that Kava can affect the liver. Kava affects the brain, and other parts of the central nervous system. The effective dose of Kava is usually 130-300mg. Experts recommend that your daily intake does not exceed 300mg. Do not take Kava with Alprazolam, and any other medications changed by the liver.

Dosages vary according to the desired therapeutic effect:
Anxiolytic(anti-anxiety) – 60mg-120mg
Sedative – 200mg-300mg
Effective dose is 100-300mg. Do not take with Alprazolam.
